Major World Cup Update 2

Most of the world cup games are on bbc or itv.
so if you are in the UK using ITV or the BBC is your best option.

If you are not in the UK you can still use these services by downloading(not really) a add-on for firefox or chrome called Hola unblocker. Hola is an amazing free VPN that works in the background and can be set so that when going on a certain site it will give you a UK IP or one from the USA, or wherever you want.

It is a quick service - I haven't experienced any buffering when streaming from sites such as the BBC.
And I dont need to worry about turning on and off a VPN client.

When I go on BBC my IP changes to the UK, when I go on Netflix it changes to the USA (you can even have different tabs open with different IP addresses.

Check it out. and check out their settings page very helpful as it gives you the most commen pages people choose to change their IP on and a click tick will save it for future.

But decided to go onto footyreport to check out their coverage, and was shocked to find out that not all the games where on!!!
(When they where on they showed them on channel 13)

So if you have footyreport (or anyother site subscription / or haven't but want one) sign up to plus1hd for a month and get all the world cup games.

Sky Sports 5

"Sky today announces good news for millions of its customers ahead of the new football season with confirmation that Sky Sports is to launch the first-ever television channel dedicated to European Football.
Sky customers should visit www.sky.com/2yearsfree on June 12 to activate Sky Sports 5 and register for two years’ free Sky Broadband Unlimited.
Sky Sports 5 will screen up to 600 live European football matches next season featuring some of the best players, the best teams and the best competitions. Sky Sports 5 will be the seventh channel from Sky Sports and will be the home of European Qualifiers, UEFA Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey for Sky Sports viewers, plus a host of other European football programming including Revista De La Liga and Champions League Weekly.
For the first time Sky Sports will also offer exclusively live coverage of Holland’s top division Eredivisie. The new 4-year deal announced today will bring live matches each week to Sky Sports 5, enabling viewers to follow the domestic campaigns of the Netherlands’ top teams including Ajax, Feyenoord, FC Twente and PSV Eindhoven.
Sky customers will be able to register for Sky Sports 5 from June 12 via red button, online and by calling Sky. In a further bonus, Sky Sports customers can also get two years’ free Sky Broadband Unlimited worth £7.50 a month. This, Sky’s best ever broadband offer, means people could save up to £330 – and get the great value of Sky’s totally unlimited broadband with no usage limits and no extra download charges."

The first question is why? no one gives things for free.
OK and the answer is simple...  BT Sports has a contract for the next couple of years to show the champions league and Sky Sports don't, so how do you stop a mass exodus? simple, offer something so that people stay such as live coverage of Holland's top division etc...

Sounds good right? No? Oh you don't have the sky package.
So in that case how does this help you?
The simple answer is we shall see.
Will all the paid sites that stream sky sports also include this channel?
And the reason that some paid sites lost a a few points in my reviews, was because of lack of content compared to other websites.
For example the website footyreport did really amazing on the review but one of my only complaints was that games that where not on Sky Sports, BT Sports and ESPN you couldn't see, however on sites like plus1hd you can.
With this addition (if they add it) it will level the playing field between these services, and make some websites a much better option for some people... Either way we will have to wait and find out.
